If you don't have wheels, this location might be an issue, but only if you're planning on spending much time on the Strip - otherwise pretty much everything you might want is probably on site. We had a car so getting back and forth if we wanted to see one of the big shows was not a problem. Location is about 5 miles or more south of the Las Vegas Strip, but we actually preferred that. Rooms are excellent, fairly large with nice beds. There is also a 16-screen multiplex theatre, and a huge bowling alley. Buffet was OK, but we preferred the cafe and the Steak & Shake of all places. There are 11 restaurants on-site, providing everything from buffet and cafe type food to Italian, Seafood, and fancy Steakhouse. The venue is an amazing "one-stop shopping" kind of place. We never used the casino but its huge and was always full - looked like folks enjoyed it. 4 star quality but only paid 2-3 star price. We stayed at South Point for a week in April 2014.
